Edhuru comes from the idea of observing the Gadapa (traditional doorsteps commonly found in South Indian homes) as a physical threshold that separates the inside from the outside of the house. Who gets to freely cross the step? Who decides where one is belonged? This exploration comes from a deeper probe into politics of gender, sexuality, love, caste and religion.
